In Turkey you can really enjoy a Mediterranean holiday with a difference. As well as beautiful beaches, stunning landscapes and amazing history, there is plenty of fun shopping and a nightlife that caters for all tastes from a romantic dinner for two overlooking a beautiful sunset to nightclubs were you can dance the night away. It is also great value for money, making it a perfect destination for families and couples alike wanting to spend a relaxing week or two in the sun
FETHIYE
Fethiye is one of the remaining traditional towns in the region of Mugla. The town itself is full of Turkish culture and history which can be seen across the town. At one end of Fethiye you will find the marina where you can catch the ferry to Rhodes.
In the town centre you will find a multitude of shops, stalls, cafes, restaurants and bars all located in and around the main shopping area known as Passpatur.
From the centre of Fethiye you can access the Dolmus (bus) which will take you to all the popular tourist attractions in the local region, also the Otogar (coach station) gives you the opportunity to explore further a field.
HISARANOU and OVACIK
The most sought after holiday destination amongst Europeans is the mountain resort of Hisaronu and Ovacik. Located on the main Fethiye road it makes this the ideal location to all the main tourist attractions.
Ovacik is where you will find Turkey at its best. A traditional feel of Turkish living, jam-packed with local culture. Surrounded with mountain views really completes Ovacik at its best yet still within easy reach of the magnificent beach at Oludeniz.
All the main activities and trips are available in Hisaronu. For those who like to enjoy active sports such as diving, paragliding, mountain-biking, walking/trekking, rafting, sailing, and horse-riding are well catered for. For those who want to take in the culture of the surrounding region there are tours and excursions to all the major historic sites. It is also possible to take a few days in Istanbul.
For the shopaholic there are plenty of shops where you can purchase locally made arts and crafts and not forgetting the weekly market where you can take part in the local tradition of bartering just to get that extra bit of discount!
There is a good selection of cafes, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and a wide selection of bars and discos for the young at heart to dance the night away.
OLU DENIZ
Oludeniz is probably the most picturesque beach in Turkey, set on a magnificent wide sweeping bay against an impressive mountain backdrop. Clear, turquoise waters lap on a long curving sand and pebble beach which culminates in an almost land-locked placid lagoon at one end. You will find a variety of water-sports and boat trips to the surrounding islands and why not try your hand at paragliding as the views are absolutely stunning. There are a number of cafes, restaurants and bars situated along the seafront, but nightlife is more relaxed as Oludeniz has been officially declared a conservation area of outstanding natural beauty.
